The object of the ΜΑ Program is the postgraduate teaching, research and practical application of scientific knowledge in advanced disciplines of Electronics, Telecommunications and Information Technology, in designing and developing relevant systems, and their networking with the concept of data and information exchange, their self-organization and optimization of their behaviour and effectiveness. The specific objectives of the MA Program are the following:
• postgraduate specialization through education and research of higher education graduates in Greece and abroad in advanced Electronics, Telecommunications and Informatics systems. These systems incorporate scientific results and cutting-edge technologies, while supporting devices, products and services in disciplines such as intelligent communication networks and information exchange systems through the Internet, intelligent energy management networks (self-organizing) sensor networks, robotics and automation, maritime electronics systems, biomedical systems, digital audio-visual content editing and broadcasting systems, etc.
• production of specialized scientific force who can be directly integrated into the labour market and meet the growing business demand observed internationally in this field.
• cultivate to students the professional integrity and social responsibility in relation to the impact of their science to society and the environment, the open spirit of cooperation and European / international orientation.
Relation To Employment
Holders of qualifications that belong to this type may work either as self-employed or in positions of responsibility in companies and organizations in the private or in the public sector.
Transitions
Access to this type of qualification have those who hold a Bachelor Degree (level 6). The selection of graduate students is mainly based on the following criteria: the overall grade of the Bachelor Degree, the grades in undergraduate courses that are relevant with the subjects of the Master’s program, the performance in thesis, where is foreseen at the undergraduate level and any research activity of the candidate. The detailed application of the above mentioned criteria, the definition of additional criteria or the conducting of examinations and interviews, the results of which are taken into account in the selection, are determined by decision of the relevant Department.
Holders of such qualifications gain access to study programmes at the same level or at level 8.
