Further Information

The aim of the Postgraduate Program is to provide Engineers the opportunity of static resolution of various structures using seismic regulations and static programs, as well as to proceed to strengthening and repair of existing structures of various materials using the Regulation on Interventions. Also, graduating from this MA program, they will be able to proceed to energy planning and construction upgrading using green materials for sustainable development. Another aim of the project is to create engineers - officials that will meet market needs facing seismic risks and economic losses arising from them.

Course Content:
The curriculum includes courses on PC programming, simulation and civil engineering structures’ calculation with PC, energy upgrading of structures, design of reinforced concrete and steel structures, seismic construction design, construction repair and reinforcement using the Regulation on Interventions, life-cycle analysis of materials, construction management and assessment of earthquake risk and vulnerability of existing structures.

Teaching subjects:
- Programming with PC.
- Design of steel structures.
- Civil Engineering Construction Simulation with PC.
- Energy planning and upgrading of buildings.
- Earthquake Engineering.
- Design of reinforced concrete constructions.

Relation To Employment

Acquiring the Master improves the knowledge acquired by the Civil Engineer at the undergraduate level to such a significant extent that graduates can face any issue concerning repair, strengthening existing structure or the static solving of a new construction and energy renovation of any building with materials friendly to the environment for sustainable development.

Transitions

Access to this type of qualification have those who hold a Bachelor Degree (level 6). The selection of graduate students is mainly based on the following criteria: the overall grade of the Bachelor Degree, the grades in undergraduate courses that are relevant with the subjects of the Master’s program, the performance in thesis, where is foreseen at the undergraduate level and any research activity of the candidate. The detailed application of the above mentioned criteria, the definition of additional criteria or the conducting of examinations and interviews, the results of which are taken into account in the selection, are determined by decision of the relevant Department.
Holders of such qualifications gain access to study programmes at the same level or at level 8.
