Description
The Integrated Master's Degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering is offered by the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering of the School of Engineering of the University of Patras. The programme provides comprehensive scientific and technological education in electrical energy, telecommunications, information technology, computing systems, electronics, embedded systems, automatic control and robotics. Students acquire theoretical knowledge, laboratory experience and practical skills for the analysis, design and development of modern electrical, electronic and computing systems.
Relation to Employment
The programme prepares Electrical and Computer Engineers for employment in energy, telecommunications, electronic systems, information technology, software development, networks, automatic control systems, research and development, as well as in public and private organisations. It also provides opportunities for continuation of studies at postgraduate and doctoral level.
Access Requirements / Progression Opportunities
Admission is carried out through the Panhellenic Examinations or transfer examinations, in accordance with the applicable legislation. To obtain the degree, students are required to successfully complete ten semesters of study and accumulate 300 ECTS credits. The programme leads to a single and undivided degree (Integrated Master).
Knowledge
Graduates of the Department, upon completion of the programme, are expected to:
•Possess comprehensive knowledge of fundamental and applied sciences in electrical engineering, electronics and computer engineering.
•Understand the principles of operation and design of energy systems, electronic devices, telecommunication systems and computing infrastructures.
•Have knowledge of software development, network design, data processing and automatic control methods.
•Understand the technological, economic and environmental aspects of modern electrical and computing systems.
•Know modern methods of analysis, design and simulation of electrical and computer engineering applications.
Skills
Upon completion of the programme, students will be able to:
•Apply scientific and engineering methods for the analysis, design and optimisation of electrical and computer systems.
•Use modern tools for design, programming, simulation and data analysis.
•Design and evaluate electronic circuits, energy systems, networks and software applications.
•Develop technological solutions to complex electrical and computer engineering problems.
•Collaborate in interdisciplinary teams for the development of innovative technological applications.
