Description
The Integrated Master's Degree of the Department of Civil Engineering of the University of Thessaly corresponds to a five-year course of study comprising ten academic semesters and requires at least 300 ECTS credits, of which 30 ECTS credits are awarded for the Diploma Thesis. Successful completion of the first study cycle leads to the award of an Integrated Master's Degree at Level 7 of the National and European Qualifications Framework.
The qualification provides advanced theoretical and applied knowledge in Civil Engineering and covers areas related to the study, design, synthesis, construction and maintenance of the built and developed environment, including buildings, roads, bridges, dams, tunnels, water and wastewater treatment facilities, water supply and sewerage networks, ports, airports and transport networks.
The field of study includes four main areas of specialisation: Structural Engineering, Geotechnical and Geoenvironmental Engineering, Transport, Transportation Infrastructure and Environmental Management, and Hydraulic and Environmental Engineering.
Relation to Employment
The Integrated Master's Degree provides education for professional activities involving the study, design, synthesis, construction and maintenance of Civil Engineering works. The field covers building projects and infrastructure, hydraulic, port and environmental projects, geotechnical engineering and environmental development projects, as well as transport projects.
