Description
The Undergraduate Study Programme is a five-year programme providing comprehensive education in Mechanical Engineering. It includes a core curriculum and four study cycles: Energy Mechanical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering Design and Manufacturing, Production Mechanical Engineering, and Mechanical Engineering of Airborne and Ground Transportation Systems.
Relation to Employment
The programme prepares graduates for professional activity in mechanical engineering, energy, mechanical design and manufacturing, production, transportation systems, industry and technology, including the study, design, development and operation of mechanical systems.
Access Requirements / Progression Opportunities
Admission is based on the Panhellenic Examinations or placement exams in accordance with current legislation. To be awarded the degree, students must successfully
complete ten semesters of study and earn 300 credit units (ECTS). The program leads to a single, continuous degree (Integrated
Master’s).
Knowledge
The programme provides knowledge in mechanics, thermodynamics, fluid mechanics, heat transfer, energy, mechanical design and manufacturing, materials and processing, automation and control, production and transportation systems.
Skills
Analysis and solution of mechanical engineering problems, design and evaluation of mechanical systems, application of mathematical and physical methods, use of laboratory and computational tools, preparation of technical studies and application of the scientific method to technological problems.
Competences
Ability to apply scientific knowledge creatively and independently in Mechanical Engineering, assimilate new knowledge, analyse and solve complex technical problems, and collaborate in technical and research projects. The programme develops scientific thinking and the ability to connect theory with practice through laboratory training and the Diploma Thesis.
