Description
The Integrated Master's Degree in Mineral Resources Engineering is offered by the Department of Mineral Resources Engineering of the School of Engineering of the University of Western Macedonia. The programme provides comprehensive scientific and technological education in the exploitation and utilisation of mineral resources, mining and geotechnical engineering, energy resources and geoenvironmental engineering. Students acquire theoretical knowledge, laboratory experience and practical skills to address technical, energy and environmental issues related to the exploration, extraction, processing and utilisation of mineral resources.
Relation to Employment
The programme prepares Mineral Resources Engineers for employment in the exploration, extraction, processing and utilisation of mineral and energy resources, mining and geotechnical engineering, the management of environmental issues related to extractive projects, and research and development. Graduates may register with the Register of Members of the Technical Chamber of Greece, in accordance with the applicable procedure and legislation.
Access Requirements / Progression Opportunities
Admission is carried out through the Panhellenic Examinations or transfer examinations, in accordance with the applicable legislation. To obtain the degree, students are required to successfully complete ten semesters of study and accumulate 300 ECTS credits. The programme leads to a single and undivided degree (Integrated Master).
