Description

The graduates of the programme are expected to: (1) know the principles of microeconomics and macroeconomics, along with the basic methods for quantitative analyses, (2) understand how the economic theories apply in actual financial problems, while being able to select the proper tools for the econometric analysis and use scientific sources, and (3) apply a proper analysis of composite socioeconomic data, while developing suitable measures of economic policy.

Further Information

The purpose of the curriculum is to offer students a wide scientific training in the economic science. The curriculum includes compulsory courses of basic economic education, along with elective courses (including seminar courses), which refer to more specialized fields of the economic science. The teaching subjects of the programme extent to the entire spectrum of the financial science and its applications, such as microeconomic and macroeconomic analysis, business economics, finance, public, numismatic, international and rural economics, industrial organisation and business strategy, labour and health economics, environment and natural resources economics, natural history, as well as the relevant quantitative tools of mathematics, statistics, and econometrics.

Relation To Employment

The degree of Economic Sciences allows the acquisition of the title of Economist and Accountant / Tax Technician, after registering in the Greek Chamber of Economy and having the relevant license issued.

Transitions

Access to this type of qualification have those who have completed at least the secondary education (level 4).
Holders of such qualifications gain access to study programmes at the same level or at level 7 or 8.
