Further Information

The undergraduate curriculum of the Department of Geography is based on five general educational principles:
1. Single constitution of the subject of Geography and avoid, first, the formal separation between natural, human and applied geography and, secondly, very early specialisation in the initial years of undergraduate studies.
2. Communication and complementarity with other scientific areas, distancing from the one-dimensional approach and promotion of interdisciplinarity.
3. Development of critical thinking to students and promotion of educational methods that give weight to individual and group projects, as well as offer of optional courses.
4. Emphasis on laboratory exercises and short- and long-term field trips and development of skills for both field and office work.
5. Recognition and acceptance of pluralism of interests and future professional or academic orientations within the broad subject of geography.
