KNOWLEDGE

1. Describes the types of studies prepared for the construction works (private - public) and the implementation procedures thereof.
2. Identifies the symbolisms, the necessary content and types of construction project drawings.
3. Describes key concepts of urban planning.
4. Identifies building materials and construction machinery.
5. Analyses the thermal and sound insulation characteristics of construction materials.
6. Describes how to perform all phases of construction works (concreting, excavation, retaining, wall construction, paints, coatings, etc.), the safety regulations and the environmental protection measures.
7. Describes the basic principles for surveying and worksite organization.
8. Mentions the safety regulations of construction work.
SKILLS
1. Develops plans for construction projects using design instruments (architectural drawings, formwork, reinforcement spreads, topographical charts, cover diagrams, road works and hydraulic works).
2. Designs through the use of computer (AUTOCAD) 2D and 3D drawings.
3. Portrays with photorealism 3D drawings.
4. Prints drawings of technical projects at 2D, 3D at various scales.
5. Uses software for filling out forms for the issuing of the construction permit.
6. Performs preliminary measurements and issues bills of quantities for materials and works.
7. Operates surveying instruments for land surveying (tape measure, javelins, theodolite, geodetic station, rectangular, compass, tilt sensor, GPS, leveler, electronic rangefinder).
8. Calculates the building's permeability coefficient.
9. Performs laboratory inspections of construction materials.
10. Issues the documents that must be submitted during the procedures for the conduct of private / public works.
11. Provides for the application of the safety, health and environment protection regulations.
COMPETENCES
1. Collaborates with other technicians in the performance of his duties.
2. Identifies and understands the composite ideas of the Engineer in drafts and implements them in the final drawings.

Holders of qualifications of this Type are entitled to obtain a professional license, along with the relevant rights, as provided by the pertinent legislation on the specific specialty.

Transitions

Access to programmes leading to such qualifications is available for graduates of compulsory education or graduates of the 1st class of General Upper Secondary School (they may enrol in the 2nd class of EPAL).
Holders of qualifications of this type are entitled to obtain, following examinations, an EPAL Certificate. With the acquisition of EPAL Certificate they also gain access to the Apprenticeship Class (Level 5).
