The graduates of the Postgraduate Programme shall be able to: - Work in hospital and outpatient structures in the Public and Private sector. - Coordinate groups for dealing with trauma and ulcers at every level of organised healthcare, including all levels of administrative responsibility.

Further Information

The basic purposes of the Postgraduate Programme are the following: a) Provision of knowledge on the current developments regarding the management of acute and chronic trauma and ulcers. b) Development of research in the field of new technologies related to the healing of chronic trauma and ulcers. c) Creation of scientists with the necessary skills for a successful career in the private, public, and academic sector, regarding the prevention, care, and treatment of chronic trauma and ulcers. d) The creation of scientists with the necessary skills for attending to stomata. e) The creation of scientists to cover educational needs, for continuous learning at the workplaces. f) The provision of specialized knowledge and techniques to the future professionals of the wider area of health, to the rapidly developing fields of their cognitive subjects. g) Manning of Nursing Units and specifically of Intensive Care Units (trauma, burns) and Emergency Units by specialized scientists. h) Manning of Mobile Units to provide services at pre-hospitalisation level. i) Contribution to the improvement of the health system. The subject of the Postgraduate Programme, titled "Trauma and Ulcers, Treatment - Care" refers to the promotion of the scientific knowledge and research, while ensuring a high level of studies and knowhow for its students, in order to obtain a strong scientific background in a very important aspect of modern science, such as acute and chronic trauma and ulcers. The courses include teaching hours (Theory, Practice tests, laboratory tests, and research).
Specifically, the curriculum is as follows:
Research Methodology and writhing of scientific paper, Biostatistics, Health Informatics, Trauma Physiology - Pathophysiology, Trauma Semiotics. Clinical Research - Practice based on indications, Management of Acute Trauma, Management of Chronic Trauma and Ulcers, Non-Invasive Technologies in the Prevention, Diagnosis, and Treatment of Chronic Trauma and Ulcers, Dermatology, the Law of Health, Health Psychology, Burn management, Management of Chronic Trauma and Ulcers - Diabetic Foot, Invasive Technologies in the Treatment of Chronic Trauma and Ulcers, Pharmacology, Infections, Stomata, Trauma Unit.

Relation To Employment

Holders of qualifications that belong to this type may work either as self-employed or in positions of responsibility in companies and organizations in the private or in the public sector.

Transitions

Access to this type of qualification have those who hold a Bachelor Degree (level 6). The selection of graduate students is mainly based on the following criteria: the overall grade of the Bachelor Degree, the grades in undergraduate courses that are relevant with the subjects of the Master’s program, the performance in thesis, where is foreseen at the undergraduate level and any research activity of the candidate. The detailed application of the above mentioned criteria, the definition of additional criteria or the conducting of examinations and interviews, the results of which are taken into account in the selection, are determined by decision of the relevant Department.
Holders of such qualifications gain access to study programmes at the same level or at level 8.
