Knowledge: Students acquire sufficient knowledge on the cognitive domains treated in the department. They understand the concepts, the methods, and the practices that apply to the various scientific fields and engage with the knowledge provided. This engagement is necessary in order to be able to perceive the theoretical and practical developments in the various cognitive subjects, exercise critical thinking, and cope with them.
Skills: Students have sufficient knowledge of their scientific domain and are capable of implementing them in their professional field. Most importantly, they have the competence of continuously enriching and updating the knowledge acquired. The have come into contact with the basic tools and analysis techniques, to which they can refer in order to investigate and resolve either scientific or practical matters. They understand that the resolution of problems in the work area requires analytical thinking, creativity, and innovation in combination with the knowledge of the wider environment and the specialized knowledge of the subject. They apply these techniques (e.g. risk management, cost - benefit assessment) while taking business decisions and designing actions.
Competences: Students are capable of completing tasks assigned to them both at personal and at group level. They are competent of taking decisions and show responsibility and autonomy. They have developed communication competences (conduct of presentations, use of oral and written speech), and are capable of making use of new technologies. They know how to make use of the resources available, in order to achieve the best possible outcome within a specific time schedule.

Further Information

The purpose of the department is to produce graduates who are capable of working in private and public businesses and organisations active at a national or international level. This is achieved by supplying them with specialised knowledge on every cognitive domain of business administration (management, marketing, human resources management, accounting, finance, operational administration, IT systems, Statistics, Economics, etc.).

Relation To Employment

No professional registration is required from graduates in order to work. However, the graduate of the Department may work as an accountant - tax technician (issuance of practice license by the Chamber of Economy).

Transitions

Access to this type of qualification have those who have completed at least the secondary education (level 4).
Holders of such qualifications gain access to study programmes at the same level or at level 7 or 8.
