VOCATIONAL SCHOOL (EPAS) CERTIFICATE (PTYCHIO EPAS) - Specialty "Building Works"

Description

The holder of an EPAS certificate of this specialty:
Knowledge:

1. Knows the building materials and machinery for technical projects.
2. Describes and analyses the construction phases and the designs required for the projects (buildings, transportation, plumbing).
3. Knows how to design using geometric bodies and computer software.
4. Knows topography principles.
5. Knows how to organise a construction site.
Skills:
1. Implements the design plan (architectural, structural) on site.
2. Configures and installs reinforcements in load-bearing structures, according to the Engineer's instructions.
3. Performs budgets and measurements of simple structures for the construction of buildings.
4. Issues Civil Engineering construction plans with appropriate instructions, architectural plans, and drawings of simple structural structures when required.
5. Describes, calculates, and designs simple irrigation and hydraulic networks.
6. Performs procedures of arranging torrents and justifies, based on specification data, the choice for the corresponding flood protection works.
7. Operates the surveying tools and instruments for the respective tasks (mapping, zoning, etc.).
8. Organizes the worksite areas to see that all works are performed smoothly and in the most affordable way.
9. Selects construction materials based on the required specifications, conducting worksite inspections.
10. Observes regulations on safety, health and environmental protection.
11. Keeps worksite office filing and organization system.
Competences:
1. Examines alternatives and makes decisions for unforeseen technical problems.
2. Collaborates with technical staff of the site.
3. Identifies and understands the composite ideas of the Engineer in drafts and implements them in the final drawings.

Relation To Employment

License to provide services, in accordance with the provisions of each specialty.

Transitions

Access to EPAS is given to graduates of 1st grade of General Upper Secondary School (Lykeio) or Vocational Upper Secondary School (EPAL).
The holders of Ptychio EPAS have access to:
- the 2nd grade of General Upper Secondary School (Lykeio) or
- the 2nd grade of Vocational Upper Secondary School (EPAL), in a non-related specialty to the obtained EPAS qualification.
- the 3rd grade of Vocational Upper Secondary School (EPAL), in a specialty related to the obtained EPAS qualification.
