The holder of a Vocational Upper Secondary School degree of this specialty:
KNOWLEDGE

1. Explains the key concepts, the sizes and basic principles of Electronics to the extent required for the performance of his professional work.
2. Identifies the basic electronic components and the materials used.
3. Explains electronic circuit diagrams.
4. Describes the function of basic telecommunications and audiovisual devices, using electronic block diagrams.
SKILLS
1. Operates the basic electronic instrumentation and performs electronic measurements.
2. Operates the key appliances of the electronic laboratory.
3. Welds electronic components on a printed circuit board, based on an electronic drawing.
4. Assembles electronic circuits based on an electronic drawing.
5. Detects and restores damage to telecommunications and electronics equipment, with the help of laboratory instruments and devices.
6. Uses basic computer applications / signal processing software.
7. Installs telecommunications networks and audiovisual systems.
8. Checks and maintains electronic home and consumer appliances and detects and identifies any failures thereto.
9. Installs, adjusts and maintains radio and TV consumer devices and electro-acoustic systems for home use, and verifies the correct connection thereof.
10. Repairs minor damages to home radio and TV, and electro-acoustic systems / facilities.
11. Installs, configures, checks and maintains the installations of land and/or satellite reception antennas.
12. Repairs the above structures, under proper guidance.
13. Connects the satellite antenna to the RF tuner and the RF tuner to the TV tuner, and coordinates the RF tuner.
14. Repairs the malfunctions to the antennal and/or tuner.
15. Installs under instructions the required professional TV and radio and electro-acoustic systems to cover business premises, concerts and events and verifies the proper connection thereof.
16. Regulates and maintains following instructions the recorders, the processing and TV and radio programme transmission machines in broadcasting stations.
17. Repairs minor damages to professional radio and TV, and electro-acoustic systems / facilities.
18. Operates and verifies the technical operation of the circuits - machines used in audio and image processing and recording equipment.
19. Checks and operates the transmission systems for radio and TV programmes for land and satellite transmissions.
20. Operates and checks the radio and satellite communication systems and the multiplexing systems and identifies malfunctions.
21. Repairs malfunctions in the equipment following instructions.
22. Prepares technical reports indicating the action taken for any technical work assigned.

Holders of qualifications of this Type are entitled to obtain a professional license, along with the relevant rights, as provided by the pertinent legislation on the specific specialty.

Transitions

Access to programmes leading to such qualifications is available for graduates of compulsory education or graduates of the 1st class of General Upper Secondary School (they may enrol in the 2nd class of EPAL).
Holders of qualifications of this type are entitled to obtain, following examinations, an EPAL Certificate. With the acquisition of EPAL Certificate they also gain access to the Apprenticeship Class (Level 5).
