- Preparation of technical / financial studies and detailed designs, technical support and maintenance, design, development, and production of products and services with regard to the above sectors.
- Application of standards, rules, and regulations for the study and design of facilities, systems, and products, as well as the operation of electrical systems.
- Design / implementation of programmes of applied and technological research and development concerning the aforementioned fields.
- Study, design, and development of original electrical / electronic systems.
- Didactics for the Department's cognitive subjects.
- Safety of production.

The studies cover the technological science of Electrical Engineer and provide core and specialised knowledge in the fields of electricity systems, systems for the electromechanical conversion of energy, of electrical facilities, of measurements and automations, of electrical electronic circuits and structures, of IT systems and computers, of communication systems, of material technologies, as well as in the field of modern technologies, such as renewable energy sources and remote electricity systems, optoelectronics and laser systems, microelectronics, mechatronics, and environmental technologies.
During the first semesters of studying, a group of general courses offer a basic scientific context, oriented to the technological development in the thematic areas of the Department. Then, they attend the special background courses, which equip students with a more comprehensive framework of knowledge related to fields that are directly associated with their professional field. These courses serve a double objective: they create a solid cognitive background for the specialisation courses and they serve as elementary knowledge for specific specialisations with regard to the dissertation or practical training, and the continuation of studies (postgraduate courses). The next cycle of courses refers to specialisation courses, by which students can enrich their field of knowledge. The Department of Electrical Engineers develops spherically all axes of professional activity related to the Technologist Electrical Engineer. The general teaching line of the specialisation courses aims to provide the competence of immediately engaging with the specific fields.

Relation To Employment

The degree of Electrical Engineer of Technological Education is necessary for practicing the respective profession and is related to a practice license issued by the applicable Industry Division.

Transitions

Access to this type of qualification have those who have completed at least the secondary education (level 4).
Holders of such qualifications gain access to study programmes at the same level or at level 7 or 8.
