KNOWLEDGE
The postgraduate programme of the Department of Business Administration provides extensive, analytical, and integrated scientific knowledge about businesses and their administration, while specialising on issues of administration / management, auditing / costing and IT systems. Students initially obtain knowledge and understanding of the nature and characteristics of businesses, of their structures, of their method of operation and management, and of the external environment where they grow. Then, students acquire specialised knowledge on issues either of business administration and management, or of auditing / costing, or of IT systems. The themes covered by the curriculum refer to markets and customers, financial management, IT systems, technology of information and communication, organisation and management of business operations, management of human resources in organisations, business strategy, etc.
SKILLS: Within the context of the above, students develop and learn to use the following skills:
-- CRITICAL THINKING, ANALYSIS, AND SYNTHESIS: Students develop critical thinking, the ability to specify theoretical conditions and evaluate and argue about their consequences, along with the skill of analysing situations and synthesise the data to draw conclusions.
-- QUANTITATIVE SKILLS: Students may use quantitative models and methods that are suitable for the problems and conditions of the businesses, in order to analyse the data and interpret results.
-- REFLECTION SKILL: Students are able to understand the role and the mission of the business, along with the role and their responsibility as future business executives.
-- STRATEGIC THINKING: Students understand the importance and the procedure of strategy in businesses with regard to the selection of strategic objectives, of scheduling for achieving them, and of monitoring of their implementation course.
-- PROFESSIONALISM: Students understand the need of acting with consistency, professionalism, respect, honesty, and based on moral standards.
COMPETENCES: Within the context of the above, students develop and learn to use the following competences:
-- KNOWLEDGE APPLICATIONS: Students learn to be able to put in practice the knowledge acquired, mainly through practical exercises and case studies.
-- RESOLUTION OF PROBLEMS AND TAKING OF DECISIONS: Students develop the competence of understanding, formulating, and resolving business problems, and develop and evaluate alternative actions / choices.
-- COMMUNICATION: Students develop a successful communication ability with regard to the oral and written speech.
