The main purpose is the promotion of scientific knowledge and the satisfaction of educational, research, and development needs of the country, along with the development and study of technology and of the systems for production, contributing to the effective management of businesses. The basic pursuit is the education of modern administrative employees, who shall be capable of making use of new technologies in the field of businesses. The Programme of Studies covers all business operations with emphasis on the field of production. The structure of the programme composes comprehensively the administrative, financial, and technological aspects of complex system, such as the industrial unit, so that the graduate of the Department is capable of successfully dealing with composite administrative and financial - technical problems that are bound to appear frequently in his/her career.

The Department of Industrial Administration and Technology aims to the education, training, and promotion of executives in the Administrative science and in Industrial Administration, with emphasis on the Management of Production and on new technologies. The purpose of this Department is to supply students with the knowledge of scientific methodology required for the analysis, design, implementation, and organisation of suitable systems, aiming to the effective treatment of complicated problems that come from the interdependencies between the human factor, raw materials or materials, means of production and modern technology in the operation of production. As a result, the programme includes courses on Physico-mathematics, Social and Economic Sciences, as well as courses focused on the main cognitive subjects of the specialty, ensuring fundamental practice and the means for the study of phenomena, systems, and technology dealt by modern production.
The curriculum of the Department is addressed to students interested in becoming executives of private and public productive units and businesses active in the fields of production and services.
The graduates of the Department may work firstly in any branch of the business, and especially in the branch of production. Besides the above, the modern curriculum offered by the Department, and especially the administrative, financial, and technological background acquired by graduates allows them to work in a wide range of businesses of all branches and fields of the economy, specifically because the array of knowledge provided is characterised by its expansiveness, which allows for the adjustment of the knowledge acquired to the various requirements.

Relation To Employment

The degree of Industrial Administration and Technology, just like the other degrees issued by Schools of Economics, is necessary in order to work as an Accountant.


Access to this type of qualification have those who have completed at least the secondary education (level 4).
Holders of such qualifications gain access to study programmes at the same level or at level 7 or 8.
