The Department of Computer Engineering aims to the promotion of knowledge, research, and education of students in the fields of Telecommunications, Networks, and Informatics. In particular:
- The curriculum of the field of Telecommunications and Networks is focused on subjects concerning Telecommunications Systems, Microelectronic Modules and Systems of Microelectronic Modules for Microwave Circuits, the study and development of Software Radio, the Integrated Telecommunication Systems, Adjustable Antennas and Signal Transmission, Electromagnetic Compatibility, Wired and Wireless Telecommunication Networks, Signal, Audio, and Speech Processing, Computer Communication Networks, Transmission and Switching Systems, Computer Hardware and Software.
- The curriculum of the field of Information Technology includes subjects related to the development and foundation of IT methods, Computational Intelligence and Knowledge, Intelligent Informatics, Theory and Study of Algorithms and Programming Languages, Data structures, Software development, Management of databases and knowledge, and of IT systems.

Holders of qualifications that belong to this type may work either as self-employed or in positions of responsibility in companies and organizations in the private or in the public sector.
Transitions
Access to this type of qualification have those who have completed at least the secondary education (level 4).
Holders of such qualifications gain access to study programmes at the same level or at level 7 or 8.
