Knowledge: The graduate is capable of identifying, describing, understanding and interpreting, with an interdisciplinary and composite approach and use of geographical concepts, the environmental, social, financial, historical, political, institutional, and cultural views and dimensions of modern environmental, socioeconomic, and other phenomena and problems at a local, regional, national, and global level.
Skills: The graduate is capable of applying quantitative and qualitative techniques for the analysis of spatial and non-spatial data, and specifically techniques for Geoinformatics, Geographical Information Systems, Remote sensing, digital cartography, etc., and compose the results thereof for the comprehensive description, and specifically the visualization and interpretation of the multi-dimensional spatial themes under consideration.
Competences: The graduate is capable of:
- drafting studies for the civil, regional, rural, tourism, etc. development and design, the evaluation of developmental programmes / designs, mappings, etc.;
- processing spatial data and participating in group studies;
- preparing research proposals, draft applied studies and research, as well as drafting reports for research and other projects with a systematic and appropriate manner, using written speech, graphic design tools, etc.;
- apply the acquired knowledge for teaching the course of Geography in Primary and Secondary education;
- expand their knowledge to other thematic and geographic areas and cases dealing with new conditions;
- expand the knowledge of Geography by furthering their studies at a postgraduate level.
