The Department of Pre-school Education and Educational Design aims to the scientific, technological, and professional education of students, in order to become capable of designing, implementing, and evaluating educational actions, services and products for pre-schoolers and other special populations. Within this context, the training supplied is organized towards core and new cognitive fields, and towards new didactic and methodological approaches in the field of Education Sciences. Special weight is put on teaching innovative cognitive domains and approaches, which allow the continuous reformulation of the educational and pedagogic issues, establishing and developing critical and creative thinking for educators, along with their conscious actions. The studies offered by the Department are aligned firstly with the modern directions of the Sciences of Pre-school Education (mental structures and development, psychological structures and communication, social structures and personality, cultural environment and cognitive development, learning activities and pedagogical management, critical operation and educational practice), and secondly with the development of the Sciences of Educational Design (analysis and design of teaching activities for special populations, analysis and design of new flexible forms of education, analysis and design of educational material, concept and methods of evaluation)

Holders of qualifications that belong to this type may work either as self-employed or in positions of responsibility in companies and organizations in the private or in the public sector.
Transitions
Access to this type of qualification have those who have completed at least the secondary education (level 4).
Holders of such qualifications gain access to study programmes at the same level or at level 7 or 8.
