Knowledge: The learner is expected to have knowledge related to theoretical assimilation, creative transformation, and the ability of applying in other fields a group of events, principles, theories, and practices related to a specific subject from the field of Education Sciences or from fields related to the positive, humanitarian, and social sciences. They are expected to have increased specialized knowledge over a specific field of a subject in relation to the level of the postgraduate diploma; they will be informed by sufficient details by the latest scientific developments and capable for original thinking, as well as for research and professional activity. The following are also expected:
Skills: The learners have acquired very advanced and specialized skills and techniques, including synthesis and evaluation, required to solve critical problems in research, enlarging and redefining existing knowledge or existing professional practice. They are expected to be able to easily apply the theories and methodologies of the specialized subject of their doctorate in a critical and creative manner in their own research, studies and work; apply with originality the specialized knowledge acquired through their doctorate on research, analysis, and on the development of innovative solutions in composite, interdisciplinary or innovative issues; evaluate, interpret and promote modern scientific research and studies relevant to a specialized field; articulate inductively with a scientifically documented manner solutions for the composite and new issues of the specialized field of their doctorate, and formulate valid judgments, taking into consideration the various relevant social, financial, cultural, and moral aspects. Finally, they must be able of documenting their positions using specialized information and arguments, related to the subject of their doctorate, towards a specialized or non-specialized audience with clarity, adequacy and accuracy.
Competences: Having developed with autonomy their knowledge and competences at a high level, the learner is expected to be able to demonstrate substantial stature, innovation, autonomy, scientific and professional integrity, and a fixed adherence to the formulation of new ideas or procedures in the innovation of work or study context, including research; they must be capable of applying with professionalism the specialized knowledge and competences they have applied by the preparation of their doctorate, and effectively tackle new, interdisciplinary or unforeseen issues; while being able to resolve problems and take strategic decisions starting from the inductive reasoning, which has been acquired from the thorough study of the subject of their doctoral dissertation; they must be able to make a significant contribution to the professional and business field, and have operational competence for crisis management; finally, they must be able to undertake autonomously the responsibility for the education / further learning / teaching, and for the management of team and for evaluating its performance.
