Based on the direction chosen, the graduates of the Department have the following knowledge, skills, and competences:
1st Direction (Management of Cultural Units and Business Hosting).
Through this direction, the graduates acquire knowledge, competences, and skills in order to:
a) cover the professional specialisations in the fields of hoteling, culture and catering units, and of tourism agencies, along with the remaining sub-branches - professions and scientific areas of tourism, with the purpose of examining, evaluating, investigating, and planning development and the management of tourism in the country in total;
b) design and develop forms of entrepreneurship, aiming to strengthen the competitiveness of the Greek Tourism Industry, by upgrading the education qualify of human resources, using new technological tools and modern scientific methods.
2nd Direction (Museology)
Through this direction, the graduates acquire the necessary scientific and technological knowledge, competences, and skills in order to:
a) be able to organize Museums;
b) record, promote, and manage cultural inheritance;
c) contribute to the cultural representation, to the hosting and management of analogue and interactive exhibitions;
d) suggest cultural design;
e) are able to create modern digital technology for the creative design of specialized applications, the production of digital content, cultural management, and promotion.
3rd Direction (Cultural Units Communication)
The graduates of the department, with the direction of "Cultural Units Communication" are capable of:
a) Becoming familiar with the thematic context of the communication studies. They acquire the suitable practical skills required by their engagement with the method for the organisation and conduct of effective communication strategy in the specialised field of cultural units.
b) Delving into both the theoretical communication background and the practical part, in the methodology for the organisation and in the conduct of the communication strategy that must be applied by cultural units.
