Upon completing their undergraduate studies, the graduates of the Department of Nursing will have acquired the necessary scientific knowledge and skills in order to be able to promote, protect, preserve, and restore the health of individuals or groups, as well as the autonomy of their physical - intellectual operations, taking into consideration the personality, the specific psychological, social, and cultural characteristics, and healthcare needs of every individual.

The vision of the Department of Nursing is the creation of scientists - Nurses who shall have quality knowledge and skills and, following the human principles of understanding, care, and equality, are capable of coping with and adjusting to numerous scientific environment, using competences of critical analysis, problem resolution, and practical application of research evidence. The core of the Programme of Studies is care. The curriculum includes theoretical teaching / training and laboratory - clinical training on new scientific research data in the field of the Nursing science and Nursing education, followed by systematic evaluation, as well as by self-directed learning and self-directed evaluation for the student.

Relation To Employment

The graduate of the Department of Nursing may work as a Nurse, as per the relevant Greek law.

Transitions

Access to this type of qualification have those who have completed at least the secondary education (level 4).
Holders of such qualifications gain access to study programmes at the same level or at level 7 or 8.
