Further Information

The Department of Electrical Engineering of Technological Education is the undergraduate programme of studies available; it is structured in three sectors, the first referring to education on courses of general background, the second on issues of electronic systems and automations, and the third on issues of electrical energy and electrical and technical applications. The engagement with new technologies is a key condition, along with a significant lever towards financial and social development. The dissemination of automation, electronics, telecommunications, and information technology, along with the modernisation of electricity facilities and power systems using non-renewable energy sources, and the development of systems using renewable energy sources has led to the specification of priority fields of actions for the programme of studies, which aims to the provision of quality knowledge that cover the requirements of this cycle of activities and comprise a stable background for the professional career of learners, while offering supplementary, advanced knowledge and competences, convertible and adjustable to the varying needs of the economy and society.

To this end, education in the Department has the following specifications:
- Provision of infrastructure knowledge, to allow graduates of the Department approaching modern technology and monitoring its progress.
- Provision of modern and specialized knowledge in the subject of study, allowing graduates to excel in their professional career.
- At the same time, emphasis is put on the applied character of education, so that the knowledge provided are directly applicable and the graduates have knowledge and experience over practical problems.
