The Department of Computer Engineering aims to the promotion of knowledge, research, and education of students in the fields of Telecommunications, Networks, and Informatics. In particular:
- The curriculum of the direction of Network Engineering is focused on subjects concerning Telecommunication Systems, Antennas and Signal Transmission, Wired and Wireless Telecommunication Networks, Signal, Audio, and Speech Processing, Computer Communication Networks, Switching and Transmission Systems for Networks of Mobile Communications.
- The curriculum of the direction of Computer Engineering is focused on subjects related to Microelectronic Modules and on the Systems of Microelectronic Modules, Integrated Telecommunication Systems, Material of Computer Systems, and Technologies of Integrated Circuits.
- The curriculum of the field of Software Engineering includes subjects related to the development and establishment of IT methods, Computational Intelligence and Knowledge, Intelligent Informatics, Theory and Study of Algorithms and Programming Languages, Data structures, Software development, Management of databases and knowledge, and of IT systems.

Holders of qualifications that belong to this type may work either as self-employed or in positions of responsibility in companies and organizations in the private or in the public sector.

Access to this type of qualification have those who have completed at least the secondary education (level 4).
Holders of such qualifications gain access to study programmes at the same level or at level 7 or 8.
