The graduate of the Department of Accounting and Finance knows theories, principles and practices related to the scientific field of Accounting and Finance. In particular, he possesses the following:

Knowledge: He has mastered the scientific theory of Finance, Taxation and Management Accounting and can:
- Investigate and analyse financial statements, identify the operating result and illustrate it in accounting terms.
- Identify and solve tax, accounting and related legal problems.
- Describe the accounting procedure for accounting departments of all types of business.
- Recognize procedures and internal and external operating control problems of accounting records and distinguish the importance of accounting figures, depending on the degree of development in the financial statements in which they are included.
- Make proposals on management accounting for optimal business performance.
- Identify relevant accounts in terms of operation suitability for the proper functioning of the accounting system.

Skills:
- Prepare draft accounts
- Keep accounts-files
- Collect and manage information received by the accounting department and develop the entity's business strategy and policy.
- Plan costing organization
- Use modern Accounting and Business application software (e.g. E.R.P.)
- Prepare budgets and management accounts of entities in the private and public sectors.
- Design and implement methods of internal and external audit for firms.

Capacities:
- Organize, perform and supervise the human resources of Accounting Departments and other economic departments of enterprises and organizations.
- Provide accounting, cost accounting and tax advice working by himself/herself as a Business Consultant and Cost Accountant.
- Independently exercise internal and external audit of Financial Management.
-Perform applied research independently or in cooperation with scientists of educational institutions in Greece and abroad, as well as with relevant private and public professional bodies.
