Description

The MA programme provides postgraduate specialization in the subject of automation implementation in production of goods and services.
The Mission of the Postgraduate Program "Industrial Automation" is the further promotion of scientific knowledge and technology in the broader field of the MA subject, the promotion of research and development of innovative methods, processes and products improving production of goods and services, taking into account the country's development needs and in the light of newer concepts of sustainable development (Sustainability), environmental protection and bioethics.
Moreover, mission of the Postgraduate Program "Industrial Automation" is to train scientists capable of contributing in the research, development, production, transmission and application of those specialized knowledge and skills needed by today's society of knowledge in the scientific field of new technologies. In particular, mission of the Postgraduate Program is the education of graduates of technological, positive and economic Higher Education Schools (Universities and of Universities Applied Sciences):
- in the development of modern information and communication systems and automation systems;
- in the design and development of effective information management systems;
- in the methods and practice of modelling and system analysis technologies;
- in the design of enterprise resource planning;
- in total quality management;
- in measurements;
- in the distribution of goods and services and
- in e-commerce, using new technologies, in light of the relevant legislation, scientific ethics and by highlighting the vital parameters of environmental protection, sustainable development and bioethics.
Finally, training in research methods and documentation of the results of the research effort is sought.

Further Information

The object of the Postgraduate Program "Industrial Automation" is the implementation of new technologies of Information, Automation and Communication in the production process. The cycle of production of goods and services over the years is enriched to contain new technologies that both improve performance of production systems and make possible to produce products that were previously impossible.
The purpose of the Postgraduate Program is to offer high quality education to new automation technologies related to computing and information automation systems and their industrial applications and familiarize students with research in these areas. Graduate students will specialize in a wide range of new technologies in automation systems and their use in industrial applications. Workers in sectors with relative disciplines will have the opportunity to transpose and implement new technologies in their workplace, providing added value to the tasks performed.
During their studies, postgraduate students are required to monitor and successfully pass postgraduate courses and prepare a dissertation.

Relation To Employment

Holders of qualifications that belong to this type may work either as self-employed or in positions of responsibility in companies and organizations in the private or in the public sector.

Transitions

Access to this type of qualification have those who hold a Bachelor Degree (level 6). The selection of graduate students is mainly based on the following criteria: the overall grade of the Bachelor Degree, the grades in undergraduate courses that are relevant with the subjects of the Master’s program, the performance in thesis, where is foreseen at the undergraduate level and any research activity of the candidate. The detailed application of the above mentioned criteria, the definition of additional criteria or the conducting of examinations and interviews, the results of which are taken into account in the selection, are determined by decision of the relevant Department.
Holders of such qualifications gain access to study programmes at the same level or at level 8.
