Further Information
The Undergraduate Programme of Studies of the Department offers education on the subject of Food Technology, which is the branch of Technology where the sciences of biology, chemistry, and engineering are used in order to study the nature of foods, the causes behind their deterioration, and the principles used for treating them, with the purpose of applying these knowledge to the production, control, preservation, packaging, distribution, and use of foods that are safe, nutritional, and acceptable by consumers. The specialization of the subjects results from the application thereof in categories of food that are of interest for the Greek agro-nutritional field (cereals, fruits and vegetables, oils and fats, dairy products, meat products and catch).
