The cognitive subject of the educational opportunity covers the design and application of electrical machines and installations for the following specialties: internal electrical installations, telephone and radio-TV installations, electrical systems in elevators and lifting machinery, electric energy transmission and distribution facilities. The purpose of the educational opportunity is to promote, develop, and transmit knowledge about the technology and science of Electrical Engineering, through teaching and the applied research developed, offering students with the necessary assets to undergo proper training for their scientific and vocational career and development. Upon completing their studies, the graduates shall have the necessary scientific and technological knowledge, competences, and skills in order to engage professionally in every field of the cognitive subject of the educational opportunity, while being capable of working as educators in the secondary technological education. The degree shall bear both titles: the title of the educator and the title of the professional specialty, with a single grade. The degree is granted following studying for ten academic semesters, which include a semester for a dissertation and practical training in the specialty. The curriculum includes courses of General background and M-F-L-H (Management - Finance - Law - Humanitarian Sciences), courses of Special Background, offering core knowledge about the subject of their specialty and Specialty Courses that refer to the specialised knowledge required by the specialty of the studies.
Relation To Employment
The degree granted by the Departments of the School of Pedagogical & Technological Education (ASPETE) provides the right to teach the specialty in the secondary education, while consisting a degree of vocational speciality which is equal and respective to the one granted by the Technological Educational Institutions with regard to vocational rights.
Transitions
Access to this type of qualification have those who have completed at least the secondary education (level 4).
Holders of such qualifications gain access to study programmes at the same level or at level 7 or 8.
