A. Knowledge and Understanding
Upon successful completion of the program students will be able to:
• Gain a systematic and practical understanding of the content of institutions and how they are managed
• Understand the importance of strategic management and complexity of the Greek and international competitive environment
• Develop and implement research and learning skills in academic and organizational level
• Understand and evaluate methods of solving organizational problems
• Recognize and appreciate the ethical dimensions of organizations and the importance of corporate social responsibility

1. Direction of Strategic Management:
• Understanding of fundamental actions and practices in change management

Further Information

The program aims to: (a) promote knowledge and develop research in related disciplines of business administration with an emphasis in the areas of Strategic Management, Financial Management and Marketing, (b) provide the necessary high level knowledge for the development of specialized scientists and managers capable to staff the productive and administrative business and organizations functions in the private and public sector, and (c) prepare and develop new and dynamic entrepreneurs with an entrepreneurial mindset, based on innovation and openness and fully meeting the requirements of a globalized market, so as to contribute effectively to the development of Greek businesses and the Greek economy in general. The program offers possibilities of full and part-time studies and is addressed both to students that have recently graduated and wish to broaden their studies at a postgraduate level and business leaders who wish to specialize in the broad areas of Business Management: Strategic Management, Financial Management and Marketing. The minimum duration for the M.Sc. award is three (3) semesters. During studies, postgraduate students are required to attend and successfully pass postgraduate courses, participate in laboratory exercises and prepare a dissertation. The total number of courses shall be twelve (12), corresponding to sixty (60) credits, six (6) compulsory core courses in the first semester (October-January) and six (6) specialization courses in the second semester (February-May) as follows: four (4) compulsory specialization courses they choose, and two (2) courses from the list of optional courses of all 3 directions. The two (2) courses which will be selected from the list of optional courses become mandatory for the M.Sc. award. In addition, during the third semester (June-December), elaboration of the dissertation is carried out on a subject related to the area of study they have attended, which corresponds to thirty (30) credits.
To obtain M.Sc. ninety (90) credits are required. Correspondingly, the part time program is set at six (6) semesters, four semesters for the teaching of the twelve (12) courses and two for the thesis preparation.

Relation To Employment

Holders of qualifications that belong to this type may work either as self-employed or in positions of responsibility in companies and organizations in the private or in the public sector.

Transitions

Access to this type of qualification have those who hold a Bachelor Degree (level 6). The selection of graduate students is mainly based on the following criteria: the overall grade of the Bachelor Degree, the grades in undergraduate courses that are relevant with the subjects of the Master’s program, the performance in thesis, where is foreseen at the undergraduate level and any research activity of the candidate. The detailed application of the above mentioned criteria, the definition of additional criteria or the conducting of examinations and interviews, the results of which are taken into account in the selection, are determined by decision of the relevant Department.
Holders of such qualifications gain access to study programmes at the same level or at level 8.
